One of the main changes happening to student finance from September 2012 is that part time students can apply for a Tuition Fee Loan. This is hopefully great news for SPS students who might want help with their fees. We are currently working closely with Teesside University to find out how this will exactly work for our students and will be posting information on our site as soon as it becomes available.

London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games is getting closer and the volunteers selected to be Games Makers have been announced. Games Makers will be pivotal to the success of the games as the people who have been selected will be the 'face of London 2012'.

It has been a busy 2011 for SPS Ltd, with the first Sports Massage Certificate in Higher Education (awarded by Teesside University) beginning this Autumn. We are delighted to have found some excellent mentors for our students at places including a premier division rugby club, a first division football club, physios working with elite athletes, osteopath practice and masseurs working with a university and England sport team.

There is another opportunity for you to attend a Strapping and Taping course taking place in Burgess Hill on 31 March/1 April 2012. This is a unique workshop, which provides you with useful additional skills when dealing with clients who present with a variety of soft tissue and joint problems. You will be provided with course handouts including pictures of the skills taught and will also be able to purchase tape from the SPS shop at a discounted price.

Are you currently waiting for your exam results and wondering what to do next? Are you not sure you want to go to University, but would like a qualification that has a Higher Education award? Are you worried about the cost of a degree? If so, SPS offers a range of courses that could be of interest to you.

Are you looking at our courses, but not sure which one is right for you? If so, why not call and speak to one of our experienced and friendly tutors? We understand that committing to an educational programme can be a big decision and we want to make sure you choose the right one that suits your needs.

Students applying to do our courses from September 2011 will not need to complete a CRB form anymore, as Teesside University has decided that this measure is no longer applicable to our participants. This means that applying for our courses is easier than ever. You simply need to complete our application form which you can download when you pick your course from the course list and send it to us with your deposit.

We were delighted to read that one of our former students was named in the Queen's Birthday Honours last week. Weightlifter, Michaela Breeze MBE was recognised for services to her sport. As well as being an Olympian, she also competed in three Commonwealth Games, before retiring last year. On behalf of everyone at SPS, we would like to offer Michaela our congratulations.

We are currently taking bookings for the courses beginning in the Autumn for academic year 2011/2012. We have received a few queries recently and wanted to post up some more information that may help you when finalising the details for your booking. 1 - Will the courses definitely run?The courses need a minimum number of people to run in each of our venues.

There are still a few places left on the Strapping and Taping course taking place in Nottingham on the 25/26 June 2011. This is a unique workshop, which provides you with useful additional skills when dealing with clients who present with a variety of soft tissue and joint problems.  You will be provided with course handouts including pictures of the skills taught and will also be able to purchase tape from the SPS shop at a discounted price.
